I can’t believe I got this as a recommended reading from Medium.

This article lacks an in-depth look into what the PHP ecosystem and current usage is, also, on upcoming trends on cloud systems (why would you install PHP on a lambda layer when you can leverage a better performance with nodejs, and also, why would you build a CMS from the ground up when you can simply use Wordpress or Drupal?). There are many questions out there about PHP's future, but this article surely doesn’t bother into taking a look into them.
